FAQ

Q. How come I can’t seem to [many failed functions here e.g. cannot upload documents] with my mobile phone?
A. The Merits website is NOT mobile friendly. Use only a laptop or desktop PC to perform the online APC renewal

Q. What documents are mandatory?
A. Only the IC/MyKad, Passport size photo, final MBBS cert (when you first register) and the Professional Indemnity certificate (when you renew the APC) are mandatory. Other documents apply to new graduates.
Please note you need to submit BOTH sides of your IC/MyKad

Q. How to convert JPEG to PDF?
A. Take the picture of the certificate with your mobile phone. You can use a mobile app to convert the image to PDF. We suggest you use the free Office Lens (Apple, Android)
You can submit in image format provided the image format is .png or .jpg (you can rename JPEG to JPG)

Q. Why can’t I see the Apply for APC section?
A. You haven’t completed the mandatory sections yet.

Q. What does it mean when the status is under “Review”?
A. It means an APC Unit Officer has to manually check your submission

Q. What does it mean when the status is under “Query from Officer”?
A. It means there is something incomplete or required of you. On the right of the Apply APC section , click on Documents and you should see the nature of the Query.

Q. How long does the application take once it is under Review?
A. Dobbers have reported it could take from days to weeks.

Q. How can I change the Place of Practice?
A. You can now change it by editing it in the Merits Website. There may be a charge for adding additional place of practice
